The big building at 801 S. Clinton was Gliba's. I lived only four doors away. During the summer months all windows in the neighborhood were opne. Gliba's back room had bands that played the most incredible music: cymbalom, violin, viola, acordion, bass violin, all soaked in cigarette smoke andbeer.

I searched to find a video that showed the same intensity of bar music. Try this -- it's summer.

Hi SJ:)
In my Burg day there was a Deli
across the street that made
magnificent hoagies and Pat
Daddio's used stuff shop was on
the next block.
Also there was an apartment building across the street that burned down in the 1970s.

Hi SJBill: I'm gonna show this picture to my sister law Marge. I mentioned before that she was married to Joe Bodner and that is a good shot of Bodner's Service Station across the street. That entire neigborhood would bring back a lot of memories for her. Regards, Ralph

Mack, the infamous Waffle Truck used to stop in front of the old apartment building. There was a Trenton Transit bus stop on that corner, so parking was no problem there.

The Blind Brothers and their hurdy gurdy used park to just behind the traffic light pole on Hudson St. next to Gliba's.

Two houses away from Bodnar's service station was Mrs. Wirag's used bike store. She found old bikes in the trash, fixed them up with fresh green paint, baling wire and a tire patch, and resold them for a couple bucks.

Bodnar's looks as though it hasn't changed much. No Amoco gas pumps any more.
