That Dog At Scot Gas On The Greenwood Circle, The 1970s

That Dog At Scot Gas On The Greenwood Circle, The 1970s
There is no more Greenwood Circle but there is still a
gas station here. Many Burg folks might remember this
as they came down South Clinton Avenue on the way to
the Trenton Freeway or other parts of Trenton:)
The dogs name was Lefty.

Sunoco Gas Station, Chambers Street 1951, Franklin Park

Sunoco Gas Station, Chambers Street 1951, Franklin Park

It still looked like this in my 70s days when I would
ride my bike there and ask if I could have a few
stickers for the NFL 1972 Sunoco Book. The attendants
would usually give me a "take one kid then scram"
which was great ! I wonder what that book is sold for
on ebay for now:)

256 Hamilton Avenue, The Burg

256 Hamilton Avenue, The Burg
The corner of Hamilton Avenue and Hudson Street.
Once upon a time this was Lindo's Esso Service Station,
owner Lindo Casciani. Lindo lived at 117 Bayard Street
in the Burg when he owned this in the 1950s according
to my records. It is then called Chambersburg Esso in
the early 1960s and is them owned by Stephan Both and
Stephan Kopas). Stephan Both lives at 437 Genesee
Street and Stephan Kopas lives in Bordentown at that
time.
I see its Spirito Service Station at the current time:)

This was also Smokie's Garage in the 70s and 80s, I believe
it was.

Ralph Lucarella said...
You're right PattiGirl. Smokie was a dear friend for years
and we kept in touch for a long while.

Tom Pass said...
Smokie was related to Sam Butera from the Louis Prima Band.

Once The Sunoco Station on Chambers Street, Franklin Park

Once The Sunoco Station on Chambers Street, Franklin Park
This was a few blocks from the intersection of Chambers
Street and Liberty Street. That intersection had a Hess
Station and Arco Station for many years.
We used to ride our bikes here to bug the attendants to
give us stickers for the Sunoco 1972 NFL Sticker Book.
They often did just to get rid of us. In summers long ago:)
