We lived across the street from this and just seeing it brings
back old memories. It was open for many years weekdays 5 AM to
8 PM and saturdays 6 AM to 3 PM and closed sundays. They sold
a ton of flowers on Mothers Day and other holidays.

The family of our own JoeB was the Battisti part of this
store. It later became Mazzilli Market when Mr. Battisti
got his own store. It remained Mazzilli Market thru my
Burg era.

HI MAC...RECALL THE BATTISTI STORE AT JOHNSON AND E.STATE.
MY BROTHER LOU WAS LIVING ON PARK LANE AT THE TIME AND
BATTISTI BROUGHT A STORE THAT THE PEOPLE IN BROMLEY ENJOYED
VERY MUCH. THEY ALSO WERE A BIG HELP AT OUR HAMILTON BOWLING
LANES, SPONSORING TEAMS IN 1955. BEST REGARDS.

Located on 400 Hudson Street at the corner of Elmer
Street. It was a Burg institution for decades and still
looked about the same as it did many years earier in
this picture from 1981. Thank you for this picture

Market Grocery:) The H was for Helen Zacchini
and the F was for Filomena DeMarco.
Later this was owned by Frankie Taylor and his
family. They were friends of my parents and I
never knew they owned this place until I did
this blog. They owned this in the 1970s and
1980s I think:)

Loved seeing this picture of Campi's! I lived my whole
childhood at 11 Morris Ave, practically next door to
Campi's. I use to love that popcorn machine!
I remember Sam and Louise Campi. Oh, and Antonette,
I always wished I would be as pretty as her when I
grew up! And I don't remember her name but Sam's
mother, she was always there too. The Campi's were
great people, with a great store! Thanks for
posting the picture-great memories!

This was some sort of Grocery Store back in
the day I think. Cool looking building:)

The corner of Whittaker and Rusling Street and South
Clinton Avenue. Yes 3 streets blend into each other.
This was a Citgo gas station when I was very young
and then became the One Food Store and it remains
so to this day. Referred to by us as "The One" as in
"I am goin to the One for some swedish fish".

According to the Trenton City Directory its owners in
1957 were Frank and Anthony Clarici. Frank Sinatra
once ate at Trionfetti's across the street..so a
legend I am making up right now is Frank came in
here for some cigarettes:)

Once upon a time in my Burg day this was a corner deli
owned by a relative of Felix's Deli in Millhill. Felix
made and still makes legendary hoagies and this place
was also great for hoagies.
