Joe Battista, I think you are correct

Joe Battista, I think you are correct.
This is a bank branch on Chambers Street in Franklin Park.
I said it was once an Old Borough Savings and Loan. Joe
Battista said it was never an Old Borough Savings and Loan
. I think I was wrong and Joe is correct.
I had an account with Old Borough for many years. I used
to cash my checks at this bank on Chambers and often go
eat at Zips Steakhouse down the street. So in my mind I
sorta put the 2 things together. But its likely it was
just Roma Bank cashing my checks even though I didnt
have an account there.

The Bank, Broad Street & Liberty Street, The Burg
This was New Jersey National Bank back in the day.
This might be most familiar to many Burg kids as
something they walked past on the way to school
if they attended Junior Four:)

Yardville National Bank, South Broad Street, Hamilton
A place some Burg folks including my parents did some
banking. Many Burg folks pass by this down South
Broad on the way to Independence Mall or Bordentown or
Yardville. This picture is from 1960 and the place
was just about to open:)

The Bank At Hamilton Avenue And Chambers Street, The Burg

The Bank At Hamilton Avenue And Chambers Street, The Burg
One of those places that we Trenton High kids from the
Burg passed by along the way to school. The Hamilton
Sweet Shop was across the street as was Storkeys and
Manino's Pizza. Eddies Donuts was nearby. There was a
payphone across the street on the Saint Francis Hospital
side of Chambers Street. Many of the Burg kids hung
in front of what was then known as the "C" Building part
of Trenton High right across the street from this bank.
School Days Long Ago in my Burg Day:)

Roma Bank, The Burg

Roma Bank, The Burg
The corner of Anderson Street and Hamilton Avenue. It had
a nice size parking lot in case you wanted to eat at the
Casino AKA Tony Goes on the other side of Miami Alley.
Roma Bank rolls on at this location as well as others:)

The Bank At South Broad Street And Hudson Street, The Burg
I was just told a few days ago a friend used to deposit
money here from a local business and would have a bag with
about $20,000 in it for the week. A beautiful building this
remains even today. Thank you for this item Marge Miccio:)

The Bank at South Broad Street and Market Street, Trenton

The Bank at South Broad Street and Market Street, Trenton
I remember this bank in my days working for the Welfare
Department in the old Sears building. We would walk up the
hill past Mill Hill Park and Sykes Liquor Store and past
the Newspaper/Magazine Stand along the side of this bank
building (part of that can be seen in the picture) into
the Bank to get some money. Joe's Mill Hill Saloon is
across the street as was Felix Deli a few stores down.
Felix made magnificent hoagies...half a number #9 with
no mayo !! (number #9 was turkey hoagie)..
What a nice looking building this is. I am sure many
Burg folks like me were in it at least a few times:)

School was on this location long ago.
This is a cool looking building and for so many Burg
folks like me it was most familiar in my Trenton High Days.
Storkys, Manninos, Eddies Donuts, The Casino, The Hamilton
Sweet Shop were all familiar sites right near here:)

Roma Bank Doors, Hamilton Avenue, The Burg
The corner of Hamilton Avenue and Anderson Street, where
Ralph's ole Hamilton School once was. Remember before
the days of Mac cards when you had to go in the bank
to get money. Amazing long lines of people on thursday
and friday late afternoons/early evenings:)

1300 Hamilton Avenue, Hamilton

1300 Hamilton Avenue, Hamilton
I think this might have once been an Old Borough Savings
& Loan Branch in my day but maybe not.

UPDATE:
Carlo Benedetti adds:

Actually this was started back in the early 60's as the
Hamilton Branch of Trenton Trust Co. I remember vividly
because this is where I did all my banking when I became
the owner of The Olden Pharmacy in 1963. It later became
The National State Bank and subsequently was bought out by
a series of different banks. Also got my first credit card
there. Mac,your great site brings back all kinds of memories!
