The Trenton Commons

The Trenton Commons
The shopping area of downtown Trenton in the 1970s. I remember
this most from my days as a county worker in the old Sears
building on Stockton Street in the early 1980s.

Korvettes, Capitol Plaza, Ewing

Korvettes, Capitol Plaza, Ewing

Oxford Valley Mall in Pennsylvania (Langhorne)

Oxford Valley Mall in Pennsylvania (Langhorne) was one
of the first of the newer enclosed malls in the area.
This might be a stop when Burg folks were "goin to Pennsy"
back in the day. I always took the less built up back
route here..Morrisville to Big Oak Road (referred to by
me as big joke road for no reason) and that would take
you there. Now Big Oak Road is more built up but back in
the day it was a pleasant ride. This picture is from
1973 at Oxford Valley Mall.

Independence Mall, 2496 South Broad Street, Hamilton

Independence Mall, 2496 South Broad Street, Hamilton.
Its now named Independence Plaza.
The Theatre was once an Eric Twin and was its own
free standing building. The new Theatre is Destinta and
is part of the Mall itself.
Stores from back in the day: Dawnson's, Big C, Murphy's,
Dunham's, Thrift Drug, Lombardo Music.
There was a fountain with a pretzel/hot dog place near it
and I have forgotten its name. There was a pizza place too
and I have forgotten that.
Big C had the 45 RPM Record of the week for 69 cents back in
the 70s day..Ooga Chakka !
Murphy's had a place to eat and good cheap toys and fish food.
Dawsons had Charlie Brown Books & MAD Magazine !
The places that are still here from those days are Wig A Doo
and Rayco.
