The Bank At South Broad Street And Hudson Street, The Burg

The Bank At South Broad Street And Hudson Street, The Burg
I was just told a few days ago a friend used to deposit
money here from a local business and would have a bag with
about $20,000 in it for the week. A beautiful building this
remains even today. Thank you for this item Marge Miccio:)

Mack: This was Grandmom's bank, use to drive her there to cash her S.S. checks. Beautiful bank inside also.

This was the Old Trenton Trust Bank. I worked their until 1951 when I went into service. We used to comment that all the money went out out on Friday's cashing check from Roebling's, Princeton Worsted Mills, General Motors. And the money would come back in on Monday's from the local churches.

Hi JoeZ and JoeB.
We all remember how huge lines at banks got before the advent of direct deposit and mac/debit cards, something the younger generation will never experience.
There are still occasional lines at all the banks but not like there once were:)
