The Clin-Mott Restaurant & Bar 1951, The Burg
The Clin-Mott Restaurant & Bar 1951, The Burg
God bless our Burg ancestors. They built a very nice
world for my generation to grow up in. Thank you so
much Dennis Bush for use of this great picture.
Dennis said : Yes you can use it if you mention Sue
and Don bush who are in the pictures (mom and dad).
Wonderful:)

Mack: Now that looks like a party and a half. I'm sorry I never ate there and I love seafood.
Hi Joe:)
I would have had to decline attending this party. "Sorry, not born until 11 years later". LOL.
God Bless the old Burg:)
I'll never forget the first time there. The back room was unique for the quality of the food. It was like walking into a neighborhood "dive" and getting the best shrimp this side of ... How many of us remember the "Ladies" entrance and heaven help the reputation of any gal that "bellied up to the bar in front" with the men.
JoeZ had a bar in his old neighborhood that would serve but a single drink to anyone but, well does the name "Ray" ring a bell Joe, it was across from Top Road? What a place.
You know, I don't think my Mom was ever in a real bar. Nor I don't think she ever had a real beer either. She would phrase it something like "If I ever do go into Polonaise, I'll have a Miller High Life", the dear old gal enjoyed a "Highball" like a Manhattan but I don't think she ever had a beer?

I mentioned that because I think we had to sit in the back room my first time there. This was around the time when things were changing and someone said that weekends the bar was open to anyone but weeknights the bar was for the "factory workers".
Skip: I just remember Stanley's Tavern on the Corner of Myrtle and Brunswick. I sat in the Ladies Room with my Mom and Dad on hot Saturday nights in the summer. They had beer and highball, I had coke and bags of chips.
Raise a toast to Jimmy Bosso and his brother Joe and order a bucket of steamers (with socks) and a pitcher of beer. Thanks guys.
