The Burg Dairy, Home Avenue, South Trenton
Sorry about the picture. The place is obviously not
in good shape. Still..If someone had nice memories
of the place I want to post at least something on
it:)

On a hot night on Home Avenue it was great and wasn't there a bar (whooda'thought a bar in Trenton?), a little place almost next to it called Stans Hole In The Wall Tavern?

Best Sundae ever at the Burg Dairy, screw that yuppie "Haggen Daz" or Cherry Garcia, that place was just solid good.

Odd, in New Hampshire you can buy the cheap store brand and get good ice cream. NH law sets a standard for the cream and that is what makes if good. One of my relatives worked for Hood in Boston and said that the NH standard was higher, most could only pass down here as "ice milk". I believe the "cream count" is down now that summer is upon us since for the past few weeks it has been "watery" a tad. I treat myself to a small bowl every night since I gave up other things.

Mack what a shame, makes me sick to see Home Ave. like that. The place had great sundaes called "Walk-Aways." Skip there was a small bar on the block can't remember the name, neighborhood joint.

Hi Skip and JoeZ:)

Please note all of Home Avenue does not look like this building. But its a sign of neighborhood issues of course. I debated posting it because I worried it would br upsetting to some but thought others who had fond memories of the place would at least like to see the building again, especially folks now far away from the area. If I had an old picture of it I would have posted that. Alas, this is the best we can do for now.
By the way I never knew about this place in my Trenton days and from what Skip says, I missed something special. Smile, its memory lane:)

No Mack, thanks, there is only a certain amount you can edit out. I used to take a ride around now and then so I have some appreciation for how much you do trying to get a shot where the street is swept.

It sure isn't like the old days. But then think of how special we were and lucky.

I no longer drive by the house I live in for the first 6 or 7 years. The folks who bought our other house actually do a pretty nice job. It upeset me when they cut down the trees I planted though. One of the old neighbors kind of told me that the reason the tree was so fat and happy and grew so well was that I did a great job of putting over the water main. Oooooooss.

I worked there when I was in high school. We made the ice cream on Saturday mornings
