I once stood in line at that spot waiting to see Buffalo
Bob, Clarabelle and Howdy Doody on that RKO Broad stage
- a magic moment for a six-year-old. The Howdy Doody
road show hit the local Burg scene two times in the
early 50s, also appearing at SS Allen's Department
Store at 694 S. Broad.

I cheered there on Saturdays for the boys basketball
of Immaculate Conception.

Used to go there on Saturdays to play basketball with
other girls from Immaculate Conception School. It was
just for fun, and Father Lyons was our "coach," bless
him.

When I was in grammar school all the CYO Boys Basketball games were played at JR.2 on Olden Ave. on Sunday afternoons saw some great games. I played on the JV team and we played Saturdays at Washington School.
