Salt Water Taffy
Salt Water Taffy, Invented in Atlantic City.
I don't know if this just a Jersey item or all shore
areas have it.
Pronounced Saht wooder taffee, of course:)
UPDATE
Saxman adds...
Might be all over the country..but only the true
salt water taffy is from NJ...Atlantic City actually.
Two places I remember on the boadwalk...on one corner
was Fralinger's and on the opposite corner was James'
Salt Water Taffy. As of last Sept there where two
places on Long Beach Island to get taffy...Stutz and
Candies. We always get a couple of boxes to take back
to NH for my friend who checks on the house. Had alot
of fillings replaced by Dr Sussman when I was a
youngster because of Salt Water Taffy!!

Mack, I love the smells and all the colors but can't eat taffy. Atlantic City had the best. There was a story about Salt Water Taffy on the Travel Channel awhile ago and how it got started, very interesting.
Hi JoeZ:)
I hear ya about Taffy..they need a
2nd version for us but it was great back in the day:)
