Hi, Ralph,

Rocco "Rocky" Marval owned the slaughterhouse at Fulton and Hudson. I wasn't aware of a skater in the family (but that doesn't mean anything).

Ralph, how 'bout that! ;-) His son was names Rocky Marval too!

Rocky Marval (born November 11, 1965) is an American pair skater. With partner Calla Urbanski, he is the 1992–1993 U.S. National Champion. They finished 10th at the 1992 Winter Olympics.

The pair was nicknamed "The Waitress and the Truck Driver" by the media because of the former occupations of Urbanski and MarvalThey split up in the summer of 1992.

They teamed up again and turned pro; in 1998, the team was third in the World Professional Championships.

Marval works at the Igloo Ice Rink in Mount Laurel, New Jersey, as the director of skating. He is married to former figure skater Isabelle Brasseur.

This place is my one horrible memory of the Burg, I lived at the other end of Fulton street and was tramatized by that place! I don't eat meat to this day becuase of the things I saw there. My parents would beg me to stay away but I wanted to pet the cows and see the the pigs. I would go home crying all the time!I thought all of the meat form the animals went to Fulton Meat Market so I would not eat it. And I often got stung by the bees that hung around there too.
