Nona Hendryx (7U)
Nona Hendryx, may well be the greatest musician ever to emerge from Trenton NJ.
Nona grew up in South Trenton and went to Junior Four, later her family moved to Philadelphia. Nona Hendryx was a back up singer for Patti Labelle and the Bluebelles which had a number of hits in the mid 60's and early 70's. Over the years Nona has had record deals with major labels Epic, Arista, RCA and EMI which issued several of her albums and a number of her singles.
In 1974, Labelle had a #1 hit with Lady Marmalade which Nona sung back up on.
Albert, Junior Four 73-76
