Ralph Lucarella's Hamilton Bowling Lanes, Route 33, Hamilton
Ralph Lucarella's Hamilton Bowling Lanes, Route 33

Hi Mack: I could write a book about the Hamilton Bowling Lanes.
Ed Stec is my brother Lou's son in law and along with Lou
was very involved in the operation. He took care of the
automatic pin machines. We were located right across
from Tony Cal's and Patterson Chevrolet in 1955.
After I left the area, my brother sold the Lanes to the
Mack tomatoe pie people in 1970. We had 20 lanes and
were among the first to use automatic pin spotters.
We were filled up with leagues all week and only had open
bowling late at night and on weekends. We had a large
lucheonette and pin ball machines. We originally wanted
to build the lanes next to Cedar Gardens but were unable
to acquire the ground. The new owners moved the lanes in
order to get a liquor license at the new location.
The building was eventually sold to Mrs. Goldberg's
appliance business in the 70s.

Hi Mack: Thanks a lot for showing our bowling lanes, the building was destroyed by fire sometime in the 70s. Mrs. Goldberg used the building for her appliance business after the new owners moved the lanes to Kuser Road. Only in America could 2 mailmen without much money build an operation like that. My brother got a mortgage on his house in order to acquire the ground and with the cooperation of Mel Blatt and Al Enourato among many others were we able to do it. Tony Cal's and Patterson's also benefited and cooperated in many ways. Thanks again Mack, maybe now some people might recall when the lanes were on Route 33. Regards
I remember quite well the lanes on 33. My mom worked there every Sunday morning and I and the rest of my family were there all day long on Sundays.
