To all Veterans. Today, Nov 11, 2009, Applebee's is giving a free entree to all Veterans. Also If you do not know, Home Depot and Lowes give a military 10% discount for veterans.
Hi Mack: On this Veterans Day I get a kick out of remembering a shipmate of mine on the Island of Espirito Santo in the Coral Sea. His name was Elmer Leslie, but you better not call him Elmer, we called him Mike. He was one of the Trenton guys here and he was in charge of the Officer's Club. I think he got rich by watering down the liquor and other things. Putting him in charge of the Officer's Club was like putting Dom DeLouise in charge of the galley. He help us all feel like we were in the Burg. Regards, Ralph
