701 Whittaker Avenue, The Burg
Once upon a time this was Chianti's back in my Burg
Day. This is a new picture of this taken a few days
ago:)
A Blog about the Chambersburg area of Trenton NJ. The Burg we all loved and miss. If you were from the Burg I hope many of the pictures and lists and comments under them from good folks bring back some nice memories. Villa Park, Franklin Park, South Trenton, and nearby Hamilton also mentioned. Use the search box atop the blog to find schools, churches, streets, stores, bars etc that you remember. Over 4000 posts and 3000 pics. Enjoy:)

Wasn't this the old Heil's Bowling Alleys?
Hi JoeB:)
Yes you are correct as usual:)
This was called "Heil's Cafe and
Recreation Center" owner
Jacob J Heil
in my 1950s book.
in the 60s it became
Anthony's Bar & Grill.
It was Chianti's in my Burg Day:)
Hi Guys: You both are right, being in the bowling business, we knew Jake Heil. If I remember correctly the bowling alleys were down stairs. When we opened the Hamilton Bowling Lanes, most of their leagues switched over to our place. That was in the late 50s. Regards, Ralph
As I recall, there where only about 6 lanes with pin boys. Gezzz can u imagine having that job. Someone was always trying to hit them. Ah, the good old days.supermansupermany1144
