Dr. Morconi and Dr.Sica were two of the first Italian doctors in the Burg. Would you believe the doctors in those days came to your house. They were called house calls and the charge was usually five dollars. I recall many visits they made to our house. What a difference today, the doctors would'nt consider making house calls.

Ralph, when I lived on Brunswick Ave. we had 2 brothers who were doctors, Drs. Franzoni, when I was little, they always came out to the house after hours. Wasn't looking forward to that shot in the ass though.
Hi Ralph & Joe:)
When did Docs stop making house calls? the 50s? Thanks:)
Ralph,
If I remember right, Dr Sica had a daughter that was a teacher in the Trenton School system. Yes, Yes, I remember the doctors coming to the house making calls at time, in all kinds of weather. I remember also at time they would quarantine your house. Put a sign on the door. I remember St Francis Hospital was a small place, only two floors.
I had scarlet fever as a kid and was in the Municipal Hospital (Donnelley Hospital) I also remember those big needles.
I came home on V-E Day. Wow! How !! the folks celebrated.
Hi Ed: Dr, Sica also had a daughter who was married to Bill Deardon who was N.J. Commissioner of Motor Vehicles during Harold G. Hoffman's time. Do you remember that era? Hoffman was a real character.
