1200 South Broad Street, The Burg. Once the Widows Watch.
The corner of South Broad Street and Liberty Street.
Many Burg folks passed by this everyday as it was and is
a very busy intersection. The Bank is on the other side
of the Street. Its Wachovia now but was Corestates and was
First Union and was something else. These banks all buy
each other. One day there will be just One bank:)
Mona's Restaurant was near here in my day. I think it
was open all night. If for some reason (ahem) it was
too hard to walk to Pats, Mona's had a good and cheap
breakfast:)
Fun days long ago in the Burg:)

It was First Mechanics Bank when I was a kid, then became NJ National Bank. They tore down 2 sets of semi's to make the side driveway. Remember Milly from Siegels? She lived in one of those semi's.
Widow's Watch had Sunday afternoon music on their side porch for awhile...good times!
I remember Mary Ann Dilk at 1st Mechanics. She use to bowl at Heils.
