A Blog about the Chambersburg area of Trenton NJ. The Burg we all loved and miss. If you were from the Burg I hope many of the pictures and lists and comments under them from good folks bring back some nice memories. Villa Park, Franklin Park, South Trenton, and nearby Hamilton also mentioned. Use the search box atop the blog to find schools, churches, streets, stores, bars etc that you remember. Over 4000 posts and 3000 pics. Enjoy:)

Mack: Drove my car through there many a times. They did a good job no complaints.
Ralph:
What was this building before the car wash. All I remember it being a factory. I also remember someone telling their was a car barn somewhere in the area.
Hi JoeB & JoeZ :))
I do not know what was near it..I remember hearing about the car barn too:))
By the way JoeB you were right about the bank on Chambers Street in Franklin Park.. it was never an Old Borough or Roma Savings :))
HI GANG....I BELIEVE THAT BUILDING WAS USED AS A SKATING RINK IN THE EARLY YEARS. REGARDS.
Ralph:
I believe the skating rink was next door.
IT SEEMS I RECALL TROLLEY CARS AND LATER TRENTON TRANSIT USING IT AS A BUS TERMINAL. BUT THAT COULD HAVE BEEN AFTER THE SKATING RINK.
My Dad would get his Chrysler Imperial washed every Sunday after church. It was next to the roller rink. They used to hide the new model Chryslers back in the 50's. My dad bought a new one every year and they let him get a sneak peak.
I spent my share of time at Capital Roller Rink and remember the tomato smell from Stokley's in the fall.
Loved the small windows that kids could see the cars getting washed. The roller rink we went to was next door....wasn't the Champale factory down the street?
