A Blog about the Chambersburg area of Trenton NJ. The Burg we all loved and miss. If you were from the Burg I hope many of the pictures and lists and comments under them from good folks bring back some nice memories. Villa Park, Franklin Park, South Trenton, and nearby Hamilton also mentioned. Use the search box atop the blog to find schools, churches, streets, stores, bars etc that you remember. Over 4000 posts and 3000 pics. Enjoy:)

HI MAC....ROEBLING AVENUE IS TOO NARROW FOR 2 WAY TRAFFIC..I WONDER IF THEY EVER COSIDERED TO MAKE IT ONE WAY. ESPECIALLY WHEN THE BUSSES USE IT. I HOLD MY BREATH EVERY TIME I DRIVE ON ROEBLING AVE. REGARDS.
Hi Ralph:)
Oh yes them narrow burg streets and tricky intersections. Driving more an art than a science in our beloved hometown :)
Remember parking and getting a spot? Not bad when in the 1950's it was a car per family but I remember as we boomers came of age it suddenly went from one car per household to three. Thank God for the allies and neighbors with a garage. Now you have me wondering about my friends car. Right on the corner of Greenwood and Olden along what was a medical shop, they had the garage and he left for college in Florida and never returned this was in 1967. It was about 1982 and while I was working in that alley one day I stopped and looked into that old garage and it was still there. A powder blue Triumph TR-3. Going by a few years ago I noticed the roof was in a horrible state of repair and I have to wonder if that old car is still lurking in the shadows and junk?
