A Blog about the Chambersburg area of Trenton NJ. The Burg we all loved and miss. If you were from the Burg I hope many of the pictures and lists and comments under them from good folks bring back some nice memories. Villa Park, Franklin Park, South Trenton, and nearby Hamilton also mentioned. Use the search box atop the blog to find schools, churches, streets, stores, bars etc that you remember. Over 4000 posts and 3000 pics. Enjoy:)

SPIKE WAS ALSO THE SPONSOR OF THE TRENTON CADETS IN THE CENTRAL JERSEY LEAGUE DURING THE 1930'S PLAYING THEIR HOME GAMES AT WETZEL FIELD. HIS BAR ACROSS FROM THE BROAD THEATRE ALSO WAS VERY POPULAR.
Hi Ralph :)
Thank you for this post. I was unaware of the Trenton Cadets:)
Spike a local legend forever.
Hey Mack, would you or any guests remember the name of the frozen custard stand to the right of the golf course.
Best regards
Hi Vince. I remember that building that looked like a little ice mountain . I think it was called Gravetts (?) when it was an ice cream place. Later it was a meat place with the name Angus in its title as I recall from the days after independence mall was built :)
Bingo Mack, Gravetts...thanks. Sometimes the old remember does'nt remember so well.
Regards
