Saint Anthony's Church Carnival 1970

Saint Anthony's Church Carnival 1970
Located in the Villa Park/Hamilton area, this was one of
many local church carnivals that were part of the season
of life back in the old days:)

HI MAC...CHURCH CARNIVALS AND VOLUNTEER FIRE COS. HAD VERY SUCESSFULL AFFAIRS DURING THE EARLY DAYS. I RECALL THE MANY CARNIVALS IN THE 1930 ERA WHICH FEATURED BIG TIME BANDS AND I ALWAYS LOOKED FORWARD TO SEEING LOUIE PRIMA AND OTHERS IN PERSON. ANOTHER FACTOR THAT MADE IT THE GREATEST GENERATION. REGARDS.

Hi Ralph:)

I remember the carnivals of Immaculate, Holy Cross, Saint Joachims, Saint Anthonys and Holy Angels...

I never knew Louie Prima was at area carnivals. Wow :)

What a voice:)

I remember my mom telling me that she and her girlfriend Helen Drezbecki saw Frank Sinatra at Woodlawn Pool in the early 40's, before he became a "heartthrob". I wonder if anyone else heard the same story.

Hi Barb:))

In May 1941, Sinatra was at the top of the male singer polls in the Billboard and Down Beat magazines.
The period between 1935-1939 is prolly a better fit for the story.
He was close enough for that to happen:)
