A Blog about the Chambersburg area of Trenton NJ. The Burg we all loved and miss. If you were from the Burg I hope many of the pictures and lists and comments under them from good folks bring back some nice memories. Villa Park, Franklin Park, South Trenton, and nearby Hamilton also mentioned. Use the search box atop the blog to find schools, churches, streets, stores, bars etc that you remember. Over 4000 posts and 3000 pics. Enjoy:)

HI MAC...ONE OF THE EARLY BOWLING ALLEYS IN THE CITY. I RECALL SETTING PINS AS A PIN BOY FOR THE CARABELLIS IN BROWNS MILLS DURING THE 1930'S. IN THOSE DAYS WE GOT 2 CENTS A GAME, WE NEVER GOT RICH DOING THAT. REGARDS
Hi Ralph:)
I was spoiled by the Hamilton Bowling Lanes automatic scoring. To this day how a bowling game is actually scored is mysterious to me.
NOTE: For anyone reading this who does not know : Ralph Lucarella began the Hamilton Bowling Lanes on Route 33 in Hamilton in the 50s and owned it before he sold it and it was moved to Kuser Road:)
THE HAMILTON BOWLING LANES WERE BUILT AND OWNED BY MY BROTHEWR LOU AND I IN 1955. I LEFT FOR FLKORIDA IN 1960 AND LOU RAN THE LANES UNTIL 1970 WHEN HE SOLD IT TO THE MACK FAMILY. LOU PASSED AWAY IN 1989 AND MY BROTHER DOCTOR (CHUCK)PASSED AWAY IN 1988. MAY GOD BLESS THEM AND MAY THEY REST IN PEACE.
My husband and I were building our house and my cousin Louie Lucarella called and asked if we wanted hardwood from the lanes for our floors. He told us they had sold the bowling alley and it was being moved to Kuser Rd. My husband and I rented a truck and were going to pick up the hardwood the next day, but the bowling alley caught fire that night and burned for over a week, so no hardwood floors in my house.
I didnt know you and Ralph were related. How bout that :))
