Trenton Mayor Donal Connolly
I know little of Trenton politicians of old except they
were often in the paper or people talked about them.
But for those who remember him here is Mayor Connolly.
He is the man not wearing glasses in this picture.

Mayor Donol J. Connolly was a good friend of my father. He was the Mayor but also served as Commissioner of the Water, Sewer, Street Division and Designm Surveys and Mapping for many years.
Mayor Connolly was at your Mothers and My wedding reception. He could not make the church because of a previous engagement.
Mayor Connolly gave us a very large cash wedding gift. He sat in the back with my dad and they were talking, drinking until Mom and I left.
I don't think you ever knew this. But my dad and he were good friends in the 50's and 60's.
HI MAC...MAYOR CONNOLLY WAS THE MAYOR FOR MOST OF MY YOUNGER YEARS BUT WAS REPLACED BY MY FRIEND AND TEAMMATE ART HOLLAND. AS I RECALL CONNOLLY AND MARY ROEBLING WERE VERY FRIENLY AND YOUR DAD PROBABLY KNOWS MORE ABOUT THAT THAN I. MAYOR CONNOLLY AND MAYOR DONOLLY BOTH WERE VERY GOOD MAYORS AND ART HOLLAND HAD A TOUGH JOB TO CARRY ON THE PROGRESS OF THE CITY. AS WE NOW KNOW, HE DONE A GREAT JOB AND MADE MANY CHANGES.
