What block would that be? A Cutrate and a Harley Davidson Motorcycle dealer.

Could that be the start of Chico's.

Skip:
That would Harding and S. Broad.
He originally started at his parent home on Elmer Street, then moved to S. Broad, this location, and moved across the street to Harding and S. Broad. I believe he sold the business and moved to Florida and now is deceased.

Hi Skip & JoeB..
JoeB I hope you saw the picture I posted a few days ago of Mazzilli & Battisti Market in 1933:)))

Joe B is correct it moved across the street where it was most of my Burg days.

Marsh's Hobby Shop is just behind the big billboard to the left. Up S. Broad is Joe Kudra's Fur Shop. I think, still in existence.

Oh, and how could we neglect Lenny Frost's Grill, two doors away from Chico's. This was a oval-shaped bar equipped shot and a beer joint that served great food which included turtle soup. One time, we brought the turtle, a two hundred pound sea turtle that could chop through 2 x 4s with its beak.

A neighbor of ours bought a Harley from Chico in maybe 1950. More leather and studs than I've ever seen since.

A great pic!

Lenny Frost's Bar was next door to me, then Mrs Kudra, Chicos, Frank the Barber, Butkos Bar, Mays Department Store and at the corner of Division is the Eagle Cleaners. Great picture Mack, thanks.

Anonymous, this is the 1000 block of Broad, between Anderson and Division on this side, with Harding meeting Broad on the other side at the Tydol Gas station.
