South Broad Street 1923, The Burg

South Broad Street 1923, The Burg

This is at the corner of Anderson Street. Note the Chambersburg
Hospital which became other things later on is a vacant lot.
That building itself was torn down in the 1990s and a dentist
built a building that sorta looks like a tooth there now, which
is pretty cool:)

HI MAC...MY WIFE WAS TREATED AT THE CHAMBERSBURG HOSPITAL AFTER AN ACCIDENT WITH A MOTORCYCLE ON HALLOWEEN NIGHT. THEY HAD TO AMPUTATE HER TOES ON HER RIGHT FOOT WHEN SHE WAS ABOUT 12 YEARS OLD. REGARDS.

First let me give my sympathies to Mike for the loss of his mom Julie. A sweeter, more pleasant and funny lady never lived. So sorry Mike, Dave and Ed.
Hi everyone, it's been a while. Busy with work and no fun makes Barb a dull girl. Helen's Luncheonette is on the corner, later became MAB Paints. Next to that was an accountant John (?) Accounting Services in the front and a large home at the rear, with detached garages and a big side yard you can see in the photo. You can just see the side of the building where I grew up, back then it belonged to Jacob Krone (?) and was Yelens Pharmacy, later Community Paint and still later Hoffman & Ofner Shoes. Great Photo.
