Went to a new pie place last week that featured a "hot dog" pie. Even though I am purist and do not like junk on my pie, I thought of the Casino and decided to try it. They use a regular pie shell and spread it with mustard overlaying with cooked green peppers, potatoes, and hot dogs pieces. Would not do it again but certainly did have that Casino Dog aroma.

Ralph, just for the record, as a grandson, I would like to say ,Canio deserves the credit for making all the investments (Casino-1939, Woodlawn pool-1949, Paradise Swimming Club-1958) on his own. Two other sons (Mike&Jim) where also involved in the early years and of course Gino Mac & Mary, his only daughter, ran the business for 35 years successfully. The youngest son, Albert was partners with his sister Mary for a few years then opened two of his own stores named Tony Goes. Yes, Ernie did operate the already successful business for about 10 years with Gino as a partner. However it was Canio's forsight and persaverance that led to all the sucesses which makes me proud to say he was my grandfather.

When we were working at my father's gas station...Fabian's Gulf on Swan and Whittaker we would order Casino dogs to go...when we had a crowd hanging out we sometimes ordered 30+ Italian dogs at one time...Great stuff!!!!

I understand one of the other grandson's (Ray Sbarro) is about to open a new site in Mercerville/Hamilton,NJ....he will be carrying on his Grandfathers tradition of the famous Italian HotDog! The new place is called "Jimmy Goes",..and will be opening soon (a month?) on RT. 33 at the old Barberro's Bakery behind Applebees. Now we can all enjoy an authentic casino hot dog AGAIN!!!

That is correct anonymous! Ray Sbarro, the grandson of Canio Sbarro and son of Vince Sbarro is the owner/operator of the soon to open "Jimmy Goes"! It will feature the famous Italian Hot Dog with all it's famous trimmings. 339 Rt 33 Mercerville behind Appelbees at the old Barberro's Bakery. Although Ray is a relative of the Casino crew,..there is no connection between the new "jimmy Goes" and the former Tony Goes Casino. He is the sole proprieter. Be on the look out....coming soon!

BTW~ The origin of the name, "jimmy goes"...Ray's father Vincent's nickname was Jimmy,..the Sbarro men were infamous for being "on the go",...people would say, "there he goes,..jimmy goes for this,..jimmy goes for that,..tony goes for this,...tony goes"... True story! Ray goes too!

woops, so it seems,..jimmy isn't going afterall. The whole ball of wax fell apart. NO ray, or jimmy or Tony. The good news is the FireHouse Dogs in Lawrenceville are available now, and business is booming. They have the authentic, original Italian Hot Dog with the works! Stop by!!

Born and raised in the Burg, I am really looking forward to the new Jmmy Goes. Can't wait to take my kids. Thanks for bringing back great memories.

Tried the new Jimmy Goes today. I grew up on Casino Dogs and Tony Goes dogs. These are very close, but not 100%. New store needs to work out some of the kinks...add fountain soda and french fries!! But it was still the closest I've had to a Burg dog in many years!!!

Stopped by Jimmy Goes over the weekend,..product and service was average. Warm flat soda,..dogs and rolls need help and a bit pricey for what u get. Have had better but they r still trying to get it right. Time will tell.

Miss that old place. Unfortunately the new jimmy goes doesn't serve the same quality or type of italian dog. The prices are to high for what you get, which resembles a quality less than store bought ballpark dogs. The place is cold and doesn't smell like food cooking and the service is below average.

Went to the "grand Opening' of jimmy goes,..was confused because they changed the name to Jimmy G's...the food was over priced and not even close to the supposed relatives at the Casino. I didn't meet the owner, but did hear his loud fowl mouth. Owch! felt bad for the workers and I wasn't the only one who overheard him. Not a good family environment

I give them a year and they be out of business. Food is overpriced and rolls are huge, dogs are small, peppers are flacid, potatoes frozen and the owner is a loudmouth jerk that abuses his staff. He had to change the name from Jimmy goes to jimmy G's because the casino tony goes owners don't want to be affiliated with him. Can't imagine why?!

jimmy g's...what a waste of a good space. it's a crime to say they are related to the casino! the food is frozen, soggy, greasy, overpriced and the owner is a loud mouth jerk! don't waste your money or time!

Well folks, it's been nine months since Jimmy G's has opened and many of the old Casino customers and new, have raved about the sandwiches. I wonder if these Anonymous writers even stopped in, as the Trentonian awarded Jimmy G's best hot dog in NJ. Makes one wonder who the Anonymous writers are folks. Trademarks can be an ugly thing amongst family! Although 1'm Ray's brother, I have no affiliation with the business. He named it after our father, Jimmy.
