461 Whittaker Avenue, The Burg. Once Pica's Tomato Pies
then Schusters:)
A Blog about the Chambersburg area of Trenton NJ. The Burg we all loved and miss. If you were from the Burg I hope many of the pictures and lists and comments under them from good folks bring back some nice memories. Villa Park, Franklin Park, South Trenton, and nearby Hamilton also mentioned. Use the search box atop the blog to find schools, churches, streets, stores, bars etc that you remember. Over 4000 posts and 3000 pics. Enjoy:)

I DON'T RECALL SHUSTER'S BUT I DO REMEMBER PICA'S. THEY WERE OUR SECOND CHOICE WHEN IT CAME TO TOMATO PIES. PAPA'S WAS #1 AND PICA'S WAS NUMBER 2 DURING OUR BURG DAYS.
Mister Schuster made a good pie. For a German fellow to survive in The Burg they had to be good of course.
He had a big following and Friday and Saturday nights the pick-up and take home traffic was amazing.
The mustard pie was not high on my list though some pals loved it. He would put a thin smear of mustard on the crust before the cheese and sauce went on.
