Junior Four on a Autumn Afternoon
This picture was taken on a weekend of course or there would
be more cars and activiy as school would be in session.
My walk to Junior Four from our house on Liberty Street
across from Liberty Deli started as down McCabe Alley, the
alley next to Liberty Deli onto Dayton Street down to Junior
Four. But I usually walked to school with a bunch of other
kids so as time when on it also included going over
to South Clinton Avenue near the Chit Chat along the way.
When you were a kid were your walks to school direct or
did you zig zag and add friends houses along the way?

HI MAC...OUR WALK TO JUNIOR 4 FROM VILLA PARK WHEN WE WERE KIDS SEEMED TO BE MILES. WE USED TO CHANGE ROUTES OFTEN TO DECIDE THE SHORTEST WAY. THAT WALKING LATTER ON HELPED ME IN MY JOB AS A LETTER CARRIER TO GET USED TO THE JOB. REGARDS.

I checked with Yahoo Maps and it looks like your walk from Villa Park to Junior Four was about a mile each way. This was about the same walk I had to Trenton High.
A mile up and back is 2 miles a day, 360 miles a school year (180 days) and for all three years total ..1080 MILES !!! :)
