Summer on Bert Avenue, Villa Park
Summer on Bert Avenue, Villa Park
Villa Park homes were on average a bit larger than the ones
in the Burg and were on bigger lots and there were more
trees and less commercial buildings. I sort of thought of
Villa Park as the "Upper Burg" or a Burg bedroom community
, the same way I felt about Franklin Park:)

IT'S ME AGAIN MAC AND BERT AVENUE WAS OUR HOME FOR 1O YEARS IN THE 20'S AND 30'S. IT WAS QUITE DIFFERENT THAN LIVING IN CHAMBERSBURG WHERE EVERYONR WAS LIKE FAMILY. VILLA PARK WAS A MIXTURE OF SEMI DETACHED AND SINGLE HOMES WITH MORE TREES AND DRIVEWAYS. I ENJOYED THE NEIGHBORHOOD VERY MUCH AND ESPECIALLY BEING CLOSE TO WETZEL FIELD. HAPPY MEMORIES.
Hi Ralph:)
I thought of Villa Park as the "upper Burg" back in my day:)
