Feast of Lights Notes

There was no Feast of Lights held in the Burg from 1965
to 1975 according to the Trentonian. I hear it was not
held because the Church thought it got too commercial
but then they gave it their blessings again.

Over 200,000 people attended the Feast of Lights in
1979 according to the Trenton Times.

On September 5th 1978, The Feast of Lights began
with the local Italian music band The Continentals
playing traditional Italian Songs.Joe Antinoro who
was in the band was also a barber across the street
from our home in the Burg (on Liberty Street).

The Feast of Lights 1978 Food Prices, Calzone
$1.50, Gondola Bread $1.50.

Fireworks in Columbus Park were at 9PM September
9th 1978.

The Procession with the Madonna was on September
10th 1978. Mass that day was 11AM.
