A Blog about the Chambersburg area of Trenton NJ. The Burg we all loved and miss. If you were from the Burg I hope many of the pictures and lists and comments under them from good folks bring back some nice memories. Villa Park, Franklin Park, South Trenton, and nearby Hamilton also mentioned. Use the search box atop the blog to find schools, churches, streets, stores, bars etc that you remember. Over 4000 posts and 3000 pics. Enjoy:)

Hi Mack: Went there plenty of times for my grandmother, everything was good, she loved their rye bread and I loved the bread, the fresh bologna with mustard sandwiches she made for me for a Saturday lunch.
HI MAC....I BELIEVE THE PARAMOUNT BAKERY WAS STARTED BY OUR NEIGHBORS ON MOTT ST. SOMETIME IN THE 1930'S. I CAN RECALL BUYING MANY DESERTS INCLUDING WEEDING CAKES AND ITALIAN PASTERIES AND A LOT OF OTHER GOODIES. BEST REGARDS.
Hi Joe And Ralph:)
This was my favorite bakery for cakes:)
Best Bakery for Cannoli
Landolfi's
Best Bakery for Rolls
New Colonial, then Barberos
Best Bakery for Bagels
Kramers
But all the Burg area bakeries were good. How spoiled we were:)
Ralph:
I can't remember the owner's name, but he married the Bonnani girl from 119 Mott St.
Paramount was the "go to" sheet cake bakery.
Best Coconut Custard Pie Ever.
