This blog is now 2 years old. Thank You all my readers
especially those who have shared memories and reflections
and pictures. Let me restate our mission. We are forever
on Memory Lane here. This blog is not "journalism" but
rather an attempt at a sort of "Family Album". We have
nothing against the new arrivals in the Burg and hope
they can make it something special of their own, but
the current Burg is not relevant to our mission. This
is about the Old Burg area we knew. The greatness of
the old Burg was that family was at the heart of most
things...Parades, Carnivals, Churches, Schools, Sports,
Music, Holidays, Parks, Bars, Barbershops,Corner Delis
,Restaurants etc...Understand that and you understand
the old Burg. Thank You All Again..and...

You sure have given a lot of folks reasons to remember and to reflect on the good times and the great folks of this specical community. Yes, the burg as we knew it is gone, but our memories can never fade. I remember you and your brothers and sisters and many that read this when they were growning up. I remember the neighbors just wanting to live right and raise thier children, yes it was in many ways a Ossie and Harriet way of like. A good Life. There was nothing wrong with that. I can tell you as a guy that traveled. Chambersburg and the folks that lived here were what a true picture of America was.
