Ray From Villa Park With A Song
Ray From Villa Park wrote.....
Hi Mack, Here is my choice for a song that reminds me of the
memories we will never lose growing up in Trenton. N.J. We
have moved on, but the past will always be right there
beckoning us to stop for a moment and savor the feelings
we leave behind.
Its so Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday
C.G. Cameron
How do I say goodbye to what we had
The good times that made us laugh
Outweighed the bad
I thought we'd get to see forever
But forever's gone away
It's so hard to say goodbye to yesterday
I don't know where this road
Is going to lead
All I know is where we've been
And what we've been through
If we get to see tomorrow
I hope it's worth all the wait
It's so hard to say goodbye to yesterday
I'll take with me the memories
to be my sunshine after the rain
It's so hard to say goodbye to yesterday
I'll take with me the memories
To be my sunshine after the rain
It's so hard to say goodbye to yesterday
I know in a way it is a sad song, but we can't go back and
relive those times. We can't let them go either, so we can
remember and share those memories in photographs and music
and with old friends. I'd do it all over again, in a minute.
Trenton is my hometown and it is hard to say goodbye to
yesterday. rayfromvillapark (Ray Paszkiewicz, Jr.)
P.S. This song was written and performed by C.G Cameron,
for the movie, Cooley High, which was released in 1975. In
recent years, Boyz II Men recorded it, but the best cover
is Kenny Vance and the Planotones for the movie, Looking
for an Echo, released, I believe, in 2002..
Thanks for this Ray:)

Funny, The Trentonian headline today has:
The Italians left Chambersburg in the 1970's and today the Irish are leaving .."
Should I laugh or cry?
No, Ray, that hit it right on the head and brought tears. Funny I thought they no longer wrote songs of any sentiment. It was nice to be wrong.
Skip
PS .. the headline was about the parade but the way it was written with out the pic you would have thought "The Irish" were packing. About the only section left is the new Polish section of Top Road.
Hi Skip:)
I loved the Saint Patricks Day Parade where it was located coming down Hamilton Avenue and South Olden Avenue. Count me as one who
would never move it from where it is if I had a vote.
PS I have to say it, can't help
myself..the Italians did not leave the Burg in the 70s. The Italian Burg faded in the late 90s.
To everything there is a season
Turn Turn Turn
And a time to every purpose
under heaven
as the Byrds once sang:)
