Once Upon a Time ,Priors Bakery, Liberty Street and South Clinton Avenue, The Burg

Once Upon a Time, Priors Bakery, Liberty Street and South
Clinton Avenue, The Burg.

Home of the Legendary Prior's Doughnuts. An interesting
building with street parking only which was so typical
of the Burg. But Burg places were worth the walk you
might have to make from the car:)

Still another great photo, Mac!
We often walked to the Bijou or Broad theaters back in the 1940's. One of the stops we always made on our way home was to Prior's. Their "cream sticks" were to die for! I thought their legendary recipe was gone forever, but I find that you can still get Prior type cream sticks at Eet Gud bakery on Hamilton Avenue. Go ahead, indulge yourself; I double dog dare 'ya!

Hi Mack: Tom Glover said it all regarding those cream sticks. They were absolutely the best. I'm almost tempted to visit just to try them at Eat Gud Bakery. That part of So. Clinton Ave. had it all. Between the Bijou and Prior's, you had all you needed for a happy day. Regards.

Mike has to remember, when he was a kid, I brought a dozen of the cream dounuts home almost every other night. I would stop on my way home. He was still a baby, but he love them !!! I remember that well.

I remember this as Tina's Hair Design...my mom had her hair done there. Jerome and Marcella Freidman's mom owned the place.
