547 Hamilton Avenue, The Burg.

547 Hamilton Avenue, The Burg.
This was LaCasa Liquor Store in my Burg day and
still is LaCasa Liquor Store:)

UPDATE:

This was probably the closest liquor store to our house
on Revere Avenue. Would occasionaly stop here to pick up
a six pack after leaving Choquette's at the conclusion of
a NFL game on a Sunday afternoon. Used to be a donut shop
next door. If I'm not mistaken, Hamilton Sweet Shop (two
doors away) was closed on Sundays.

Hi Mack: It seems that LaCasa Liquor store has been there forever. I believe the family also owned a very popular cafe on Warren Street years ago. Regards.

I believe the Restaurant on Warren Street was called Casanova.

Casa Lido? We used to go there for lunch when I worked for the state in the 70's. The place went through a few transformations after that. The last I remember was some huge grant to make it a major league disco/dance thing. I don't think it ever got past the initial gut renovations before funding fell flat.

Thanks Skipper: Casa Lido was the name I was trying to recall. At one time it was very popular as a night club.

Ralph and The Skipper, I use to wait on a customer at the Big & Tall Shop named Larry Pontani, I believe he was a bartendar at the Casa Lido, don't recall if he was part owner or not.

You are right JoeZ. Pontani is the name I was trying to recall. I believe they owned LaCasa Liquor and the Casa Lido. This was way back in the 30s and 40s and they still may be involved. Best Regards.
