601 Chestnut Avenue, The Burg
601 Chestnut Avenue, The Burg
The corner of Chestnut Avenue and Roebling Avenue.
This is a view of its window and the street.
Once upon a time this was DiGuiseppe Womans Clothes
in the 1950s and 1960s according to my records.
It was Chambersburg Dance in my Burg day and it still
is:)

Hi Mack: Across the street, if I remember correctly, was Carminiani's grocery (I'm sure that's not spelled right) but it's another Italian store that was very popular in my day. They, along with the Bonanni's, Mazelli's and Palumbo's (don't laugh at my spelling) were the ones you would find the best Italian food products. And most of them would deliver the food to your home. Best regards.
Hi Ralph:)
All of those names are familiar
to me, as always, you know your
Burg:)
Hey Mack, I remember always shopping here when it was DiGuiseppe's. Always bought my mom's birthday and Christmas gifts there.Ralph, you have some memory. I used to pick up many Items at Carminiani's. I can still remember the aromas of the store as you walked in.
