UPDATE: A bunch of stuff about the Santuzza Oilers.
The City League required that players be no more than
165 pounds and no more than 20 years old.
They began play in 1947, thus the picture above is from
1987.
Other teams in the League were Bond A.A., Cadwalader Deacons,
South Trenton Rams, Colonial Rebels and Princeton Hawks.
Note: Team list may be incomplete.
The team, which drew its players out of the Chambersburg section
of Trenton, got its name and uniforms from the employer of Ralph
Landolfi's father. "My father was a distributor of Santuzza (cooking)
Oil. We wrote (his boss) a letter, and in two weeks we got a reply
at the bottom it said 'send sizes.' In 2-3 weeks, we got our uniforms."
