Hey Mack, I just found this picture of my uncle holding me when I
was 2 years old. That would date this picture Around 1946.
I believe that's the old Hewitt School in the back ground with
broken windows etc. This picture was taken from my porch steps at
840 Roebling Ave. I also remember when I was about 4-5 years old
1948-49) watching the slate roofing flying of this school toward
the houses on our side of the street during a terrible hurricane.
Don't quite remember exactly when they tore this down and built
an Acme (late 50's) at this location. Oh well, I thought you might
like the picture of this school for your records.
Best regards

Gee Vince, you were a cute kid back then. What happened?
that is the first picture i ever saw of the school on the acme property.
Hey Bob, don't make me post your baby pic or your TCHS "62" graduation picture.
PS. I'm sure many have never seen this school, that's why I was so happy when I found this pic and sent it to Mack. Also, I should have mentioned my uncle's name which is Tony Scarpati. Many people in the the Burg know the Scarpati family from the Italian Festival etc.
