Hi Mack: I want to comment on this area of Chambers St. Nearby for many years was Smokey's Garage. He was nearer to Wetzel Field, but Smokey Buttera was a legend when it came to fixing cars. He figuered out ways to repair problems that other mechanics gave up on. I'm sure that many of your readers in that part of the Burg remember him. Rest in peace Smokey, cause I'm also gonna tell everyone what a good bowler you were. Regards, Ralph

Smokie's was on Kuser Road before he moved to Chambers St. He was also a cousin to the great Sam Butera, the sax player with Louie Prima.

Hi Tom: It's a small world! A few weeks ago I was in Tampa Fla. and they took me out to dinner at an Italian restuarant where a musician was playing that played with Sam Butera. He even mentioned that he was talking to Kellie Smith who sang with Louie Prima. He also recalled Louie Prima's wedding with Tommy Maione's daughter from Bordentown. We really had a ball talking about the olden days. Regards, Ralph

Hi Guys, Does anyone remember Jimmy Polaro who owned a restaurant on a Chambers St. corner. It was across the St. from a hall with a bocci ball court. Does anyone remember the name of the restaurant? Was it Polaro's
