500 Emory Avenue, The Burg
The corner of Emory Avenue and Anderson Street.
Once upon a time this was Matteo Marcattilio's Grocery
Store according to my records. This is a new picture of
this taken a few days ago:)
Note to Maryann: Anthony Solimando lived at 502 Emory
Avenue in the 1950s and 1960s at least, according to my
records:)

Yes, Anthony was another of my grandmother's brothers. My grandmother lived on 1420 Liberty Street when she got married, Mary Solimando Mituri.
Hi, Mack!
I'm Maryann's cousin. She found me through the listing I made for my grandmother, Isabella Solimando, at Find-A-Grave. My grandparents, Michele and Isabella Solimando, used to reside at 33 Emory Avenue; and their eldest daughter, my Aunt Antoinette Solimando-Abatto, used to live at 1418 Liberty Street -- right next door to Maryann's grandmother, Mary Mituri, at 1420.
My late mother is Michelina Solimando, the baby of the family, named after her father. She was also known as Madeline, due to a clerical error made by Trenton Public Schools. Her Americanized name should have been Michelle or Micheline, not Madeline. Her childhood friends and classmates called her "Mickey."
I've got some old photos I can send you, if you're interested. Although I was born and raised in Southern California, I still have a lot of family in New Jersey, many in and around the Trenton area.
I like your blog!
Sincerely,
Geri
