Hi Mack: I want to tell you some things about Columbus Park. The baseball field was named after a woman who supported the Chambersburg Little League. My dear friend Tony Fracella was president of the league for years. He used to sell hot dogs from that building near the diamond.Tony was also manager of the State Highway team in the Industrial League. He lived on Elmer St. with his wife Kate, who lived in that house from the day she was born, 85 years. We all knew Columbus Park as the Deafies, the school for the deaf was located there in the past. My sister lived on Division St., across from the park. I got a kick out of watching people feed the squirls.
I might add Mack, I'm taking a trip to Tampa, Fla. for a few days to celebrate my 90th birthday with my family. Will chat again when I get back.
Ralph, wishing you a very happy birthday, God Bless and many more. Thanks for all the history lessons.
Happy 90th Birthday Ralph!!!
