Trenton High Main Enterance Doors

Trenton High Main Enterance Doors.
Very nice looking doors I rarely used as I along with
most Burg students of my day came in thru the "C" building
near Hamilton Avenue and Chambers Street.
I do clearly remember coming thru these doors my very
first day as a Trenton High student in September 1977.
These Columns are nice as well:)

Here's something that might interest some of you. Ernie Kovaks loved to sit in his car at the front of Trenton, between the circular driveway. Ernie had graduated from Trenton High and almost daily he would stop, park on the street, smoke his big cigar and read the newspaper. Ernie loved "RC Cola" and adored Drakes devil dogs cakes. The rear of his car was dirty with the clutter of devil dog wrappers and empty Royal Crown Cola bottles.

We used to beg him of give us the empty soda bottles, since we got 2 cents deposits on each. I think he was working in the cigar store at state and Warren at the time and was a part time disc jockey on Trenton's WTTM radio.

It was just before he did his TV show from Philly. We watched him all the time. if you remember TV was not on 24 hours a day.. He was on early in the morning. I remember clearly one day I was alone and he gave me three bottles and told me it was his 26 or 27th birthday. I always remember that 6 cents was a lot in those days.

Since I didn't go to school at Trenton High, the only time I can remember going through those doors was when I was 14 or so...to get my "working papers."
