360 Hamilton Avenue, The Burg

360 Hamilton Avenue, The Burg
The corner of Hamilton Avenue and Chestnut Avenue.
Once upon a time this was a branch of the Broad Street
National Bank according to my records. It is currently
a Bank of America:)

Also the site of the second Trenton High School A huge gothic type structure which was the pride of Trenton many years ago.

We used to get into and explore the old high school on way back from religion school at St. Joachim's. Life was always an adventure when we were kids.

Hi TomG&P:)
Wow. I never knew this was where
the old Trenton High was.
And I Hope they don't tear down
the current Trenton High as I have
heard they are thinking about doing, that would be hard to take:)

NOT ONLY HARD TO TAKE. IT WOULD BE COMPLETELY STUPID, WHICH IS WHY IT WILL PROBABLY FEEL THE STING OF THE WRECKER'S BALL.

The problem with current THS is the infrastructure. Plumbing and electrical is antiquated and beyond repair. It did grieve me that some years ago they replaced the original slate roof with asphalt shingles. Sacrilege.

I remember walking home from religion school at St Joachim's as well. I don't remember the old THS. I DO remember seeing a yellow chaulk body outline of a poor guy that was murdered in front of the bank after making a night deposit. Unreal. I think it was in 1960 or 1961.
