600 Chestnut Avenue, The Burg
Once upon a time this was Trionfetti's Club Restaurant long
ago. This is the popular Amici Milano Restaurant.
This is a new picture of this taken a few days ago:)
A Blog about the Chambersburg area of Trenton NJ. The Burg we all loved and miss. If you were from the Burg I hope many of the pictures and lists and comments under them from good folks bring back some nice memories. Villa Park, Franklin Park, South Trenton, and nearby Hamilton also mentioned. Use the search box atop the blog to find schools, churches, streets, stores, bars etc that you remember. Over 4000 posts and 3000 pics. Enjoy:)

I remember Trionfetti's as a kid thru teens. My parents & I were there at least 2x/wk for dinner. If you go back far enough, I remember old man Trionfetti, Frankie's(the owner) father.
Just a couple of memories:
$3.95 filet mignons
Live bands
*Going by every Monday afternoon after catechism to get a ride home with Dad after his card game.
Having dinner in the back room off the kitchen.
Going in the kitchen and watching the chefs making turtle soup
My Dad bringing home large pots of snails in tomato sauce or his favorite tripe. Then I would return the pots.
Going to Frankie Trionfetti's house /pool in Yardley,PA
The day Frankie was shot in a robbery, only in the arm, he survived
Frankie's son (Sonny) was a sax player, he opened a club on Front St.
Tindall giving me the keys to his new Mustang convertible to take a ride (though I was only 15 at the time
Charleen & I making out in the car, when my Mom & Dad were leaving. A knock on the window was discreet allowing clothes to be replaced.
There are many more memories, but it may become even more boring.
During the war, many Italian soldiers from Fort Dix came here for the food. They told their friends. Most of the G. I."s were in town and never knew of this place (Chambersburg) . My dad told me that Perry Como and Frank stopped here with friends. I shined shoes there, but I was always chased away. Only kids from that neighborhood they told.. Get Kid !!!!!
Shoes were $.15 cents and the bid dress Boots a quarter. But we did anything to make money. Many, many of the hero G.I.'s had great memories of Trionfettei's and the burg. G.I.'s from all over the USA. Just think of that..I bet they told their friends and families.
Frank's son is Sonny or Alex. He is still playing and we occasionally still work together. Frank Stillitano was one of my students and big brother John Stillitano is my neighbor in "Woodlands" on Kuser Rd.
