Some Franklin School Recollections:
I went to Franklin...
Some words to the old school song..
Franklin O Franklin
We love thy famous name
Our pride above all others
No school could be the same
The friends that we have made here
We never will forget...
And right after the word FORGET, ironically, I forget
the next words.
The Principal was Mr Gaug in my day.
I remember: Mrs Epifanio, Mrs Smith, Mr Burke,
Miss Cinningham (who became Mrs Burke),
Mr Contento, Mrs Rothstein, and Mrs Adams
for Library in those tiny painted chairs where
she read us Mrs Pines Purple House and went
on about the United Nations.
Kickball, Bombardament, Dodgeball..
Sometimes the ball would go out in the street or
get caught on the spiked fence.
Chicken on a stick for lunch.. it was pretty good
and never saw it anywhere else.

My classroom during my first year of teaching was right across the hall from Nick Burke. Pat Maffei was the Principal.
Mrs. Epifaneo was my 2nd grade teacher.
Epifaneo met with a very unfortunate and untimely passing. Was a great guy and I had opportunity to work with him when I was on staff at THS
