Willow Grove Park in my 8th grade year at Junior#4.
A group of us from the 'Burg where not allowed to go on the regular bus trip to the park..for what ever reason, I don't remember...so we got our own bus and went anyway...what a blast we had and needless to say...big trouble when we returned the next day..Mr. Ketterer had a good time with us!!

Second Grade, we walked to the firehouse at S. Clinton and Beatty St., with Mrs MacGregor.

Franklin Institute, Philadelphia - fourth grade at Harrison School, with Mrs Mohr.

Trent House, Trenton, NJ, fourth grade, with Mrs Mohr.

Circle Line boat ride around Manhattan -- fourth grade at Harrison School.

Museum of Modern Art, New York -- forth grade. She had great class trips!

In fifth grade, with Mrs. MacGregor, we walked to Franklin School. Talk about cheap! ;-)

Sax, I forgot Willow Grove. Thanks! A great day that was!! I rode the Thunderbolt probably ten times.

Then there was this amazing Starr Bus ride to High Point State Park in eitgth or ninth grade.

We were given the oldest bus that Starr Bus Lines owned. We were forced to get out of the bus and walk behind it because it wouldn't climb the hill while carrying us!

Bowman's Hill picnics were had in almost all grades. Washington's Crossing, too, and the McKonkey Ferry House.

I spent a lot of time in the Tunnel of Love with Carol Whitehead on the Willow Grove trip.
And the Wild Mouse was a cozy roller coaster.

ICS Eighth grade trip to NYC in spring 1964. Saw "Oliver" on Broadway. Entire ICS school used to go to Willow Grove Park while attending later grades at ICS (1961-64). During earlier grades at ICS (1957-1960) entire school went to Cadwalder Park. I think it may have been school trip in spring 1958, one of my siblings was unable to attend due to case of measles. When we returned that evening from school trip, five more of us in family had the measles. Who knows how many more may have been affected. Altar boys from Immaculate Conception took trip to Expo '67 in Montreal in June 1967.

Stephen...our 8th grade trip from ICS was to NYC to see Sound of Music. We were lucky enough to meet some of the cast, Jon Voight was the delivery boy on the bicycle (he signed my playbill). We also went to Willow Grove Park, I can still remember the Thunderbolt.

By the time I got to Trenton High, they cancelled all the trips. I guess that was for safety reasons...they didn't want Trenton High kids in NYC or DC.
