A Blog about the Chambersburg area of Trenton NJ. The Burg we all loved and miss. If you were from the Burg I hope many of the pictures and lists and comments under them from good folks bring back some nice memories. Villa Park, Franklin Park, South Trenton, and nearby Hamilton also mentioned. Use the search box atop the blog to find schools, churches, streets, stores, bars etc that you remember. Over 4000 posts and 3000 pics. Enjoy:)

going down division street the next residents were judge salvatore and family, next was the mc garigle family next was the alley we used to go down to CASINO for a dog and cherry coke
We used to walk thru that alley
on the way home from Trenton High
often:)
What a coincidence that you mention the McGarigles. In 1910 they lived at 541 Second St. and in 1920 they were living at 545 Second St with my great grandmother. (The McGarigles were/are my cousins.)
Anyone remember the giant goldfish in the pond in Dr Guglielmelli's back yard???
Stepan, Amazing. I lived up the alley from the McGarigles (a few doors down from Dr "Googamelli" on Hamilton Ave.) This was in the early 1960s. I remember them. Really nice people. It's really odd what the internet can do, isn't it? Best, Ed Boyle
Dayton, Oh.
Noel, Yes I remember the garish fish pond. There were other fanciful arornments on Dr Googamelli's house too :)
Fyi... That alley actually had a name: Miami Alley. We played stick ball there using a Spaldeen. Anything in Rosie's yard was a ground rule double :)
They don't know what a Spaldeen is any more. Sad. Best, Ed Boyle
Ed Boyle,
Did you attend Immaculate and would you have graduated from ICS in 1964?
Hi Stephen. I went to ICS third (Mrs DeLia) thru sixth (Sr Calvaria) but then switched to Junior 2. I would have graduated in 1964. It is possible that you knew me or one of my many brothers and sisters who went to ICS also.
Ad Deum. Ed
