Smokey's was also on Kuser Road for some time before moving to the Chambers Street location. You may also not know that he was related to the great saxman, Sam Buttera.

When Smokey's was on Whittaker and Swan I had a '50 Ford 2 door coupe that I kept burning the clutch out..he introduced me to Riley's Junkyard on Deutz Ave in Deutzville...anyone remember that one? Riley was a real character..

I may be wrong but i think that used to be Storkeys garage back in the early 60's. he had a really bad german sheppard that bit the newspaper deliver man that would drop off my newspapers.. after the bite i had to haul my papers from far away to deliver on my route on chambers street.

Anonymous...I finally woke up! Your right Smokey's was originally on Kuser Rd before Chambers...Whittaker & Swan was the Gulf station-Storkey's. Another fix-it garage was Bodnar's on Clinton & Hudson...across from Gliba's Bar.
