Butler Street on a Sunday Morning in Summer, The Burg.
On a sunday morning in summers long ago I might have
passed by these on the way to deliver my papers on
Morris Avenue or to go to Immaculate Conception Church.
A quiet time. Older folks walking down the street going
where they may with that unconcerned walk you do
when you have the contentment of a safe and clean
neighborhood. Some folks walking their dogs. Some folks
working in the yard weeding around the tomatos.
A law of the old Burg was the last car with loud thumping
music passed by at about 2:30 am:)
And we are long past that time on this sunday morning.
Some folks will go on family drives later in the day
like we did. Some folks will go to the park. Some will
wash their car. Some will go to one of the Burg eateries.
Some will go food shopping. But thats all for later
in the day. On a sunday morning in summer in the Burg:)
