200 Columbus Avenue, Villa Park.
Once upon a time this was the First Wesleyan Methodist
Church. It has been for many years and continues to be
The Knights of Columbus building:)

In the mid-late 1950's Reverend Thompson was the head of this church. Mrs. Thompson used to walk me and her son, Philip, to kindergarten at Jr. 2 during 1955-56 school year. The Thompson family lived in the back half of the building and church services were conducted in the front half. I believe there were stairs to a choir loft just inside the main door. Also in the rear of the building was an unattached carriage house running the width of the property with 4-5 bays and a large hay loft on the second story. Spent a lot of time playing in there. We would often hear the church services and music on Sunday mornings at our house on Revere. Looks like the carriage house has been torn down and the separate residential and church sections of the building made into one. I believe it was still some kind of church when I moved from Trenton in 1975. I think the Thompson family moved on to Baltimore.
